Get Help NowDr. Katherine Martinez is a registered psychologist (2036) in British Columbia with over 20 years of experience in clinical work, research, and training. Katherine received her degree in clinical psychology from Rutgers University in New Jersey, in the United States and currently works in private practice in Vancouver. Prior to being in private practice, she worked at the Vancouver CBT Centre in BC, the San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy, and at Children’s Hospital Oakland, both in California, and at various clinics in New Jersey. Dr. Martinez specializes in cognitive-behavioral assessment and treatment of anxiety, mood, and childhood disorders in children and adolescents, as well as working with college students as they navigate the transition from adolescence into adulthood. She also provides parent effectiveness training to parents and caregivers of children aged 2-25 in both office and home settings as needed.
In addition to direct clinical care, Dr. Martinez also conducts workshops and in-service trainings on CBT for child and adolescent disorders and has co-authored the book, Your anxious mind: A teen’s guide to anxiety and panic (Magination Press, 2009). Dr. Martinez is also a staff writer and contractor for Anxiety Canada, and is a consultant at CBT Connections, an organization that provides evidence-based training for health professionals working for government and community funded agencies at the provincial and regional level in both BC and Saskatchewan.
