We are excited to announce a collaboration between Anxiety Canada and TELUS Health MyCare™ that provides comprehensive and accessible mental health support to individuals across Canada.
Get Help NowMelissa Woolfson joined the Anxiety Canada team as a Development Officer in September 2022.
In 2017, she was volunteering at an English school in Siem Reap, Cambodia, when she discovered her passion for working in the not-for-profit sector.
After years of travelling Southeast Asia and Australia, she returned to her home of Toronto, Ontario. She completed her postgraduate degree in International Development at Humber College, then worked in the Philippines through Canada’s International Youth Internship Program (IYIP). However, her time in the Philippines was cut short due to the outbreak of Covid-19. She decided to move to Vancouver and work for local initiatives, where her career in fundraising began.
Working in fundraising comes naturally to Melissa, as she loves managing creative projects and creating meaningful relationships. She cares deeply about mental health and knows how important it is to amplify the conversation around it. Working at Anxiety Canada means so much to Melissa, as she knows how anxiety can become debilitating without the correct resources and treatment. Upon finding Anxiety Canada’s resources, she wishes she had access to them while studying at university.
In her spare time, Melissa loves reading historical fiction novels, snuggling her dog Bobby, taking group exercise classes, and being in nature. A natural extrovert, she thrives when building community and working with others.
